East Jordeston Cottages featured in the Observer!

We had a very pleasant surprise on Sunday! While listening to Radio Wales in the morning we heard the presenter mention an article about Wales in Style‘s new publication in the latest copy of the Observer. We rushed out to buy a copy, opened up to the travel section and were greeted by a montage of eight images including one of our very own Beili!

The article highlighted some of the best ways to experience (shop, eat and stay) “Wales in style” and our cottages were included as one of the best places to stay in South West Wales!

If you missed Sunday’s Observer click here to read the article online. You’ll find us listed on page 6!

Awesome dolphin superpod!

Over the recent weekend, conservationists have filmed a superpod of up to 2000 dolphins off the Pembrokeshire coast. ‘Awesome’ is not a word to be used lightly but in this case it is appropriate! See the video on the BBC website.

Tipi time!

Our regular guests will know that summer time has arrived (we hope!) when the tipi at East Jordeston takes pride of place on the main lawn of our house. It’s been absent for the past two summers (did we have a summer last year?) since the last attempt to raise the tripod on the previous set of poles found them dried out and crumbling under the strain. However, this year we have sourced some fine new 9 metre Douglas fir poles from the beautiful Forest of Dean and Phil has spent many hours preparing and sanding the superbly fine specimens for their new vocation!

Last weekend was the perfect weather for erecting the tipi and here it is! It’s a beautiful structure and when the fire is lit inside on summer evenings it’s a perfect place for a relaxing ‘pow wow’. We end the evening quite ‘smoked’ and feeling in need of a shower but it’s a magical time and hopefully a wonderful memory for our summer guests!

"Living the dream!"

We’re very pleased to say that the heading of this post quotes our latest TripAdvisor review! Thank you ‘penylan’ for such positive words and for the suggestions of places to eat, I’m sure they’ll be helpful for our future guests. We hope to see you again very soon :)

Introducing our new ‘Places to See’ map!

We’re putting together a Google Map to help our guests make the most of their stay by highlighting some of the best places to see while visiting Pembrokeshire. You can contribute to this map by adding your suggestions as a comment at the bottom of this blog entry. Just write the name of the place you’d like us to add and a short review, we’ll do the technical work! Any suggestions for the map should be located within reasonable driving distance for a day out.
